If the hit new horror/drama series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, currently airing in the UK on the FX HD channel, could be described as a dark and centred chocolate confectionery cake tinged with a cruel hint of barbiturates, then actress Alexandra Breckenridge, playing the youthful unscarred version of the L.A. based haunted house's resident maid Moira O'Hara, must be that ripe and juicy red cherry that needs to be planted firmly on its top!
I can't say that I was aware of the rising star actress before this series but she's certainly made her mark here, not only with the warm blooded male characters appearing in the series, who are quickly intoxicated by her presence: primarily its likable lead actor Dylan McDermott (who, it's nice to see, finally has a unique hit series to call his own!), but also hypnotising men worldwide in the process after her memorable first appearance in the shows pilot and series trailers. Only Ken Dodd was previously able to work a feather duster with such finesses but I don't think he'd look anywhere near as good in a short black maids outfit and suspenders as she does!

Not even hitting thirty years, Breckenridge, normally seen blond, has appeared in all kinds of diverse and numerous film and TV series work over the last ten years or so, including lots of fluffy comedy, voicing memorable characters on FAMILY GUY, guest shots on Vampire-based hits TRUE BLOOD and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, and other popular series like DIRT, MEDIUM and CSI. But its with her ghostly appearances in this show- as the sexually motivated and temptatious younger visage of her current embittered older self (played by Frances Conroy)- for which she'll no doubt be most remembered and enjoyed...

And, as series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's long term plans for the glossy, dripping with eeriness pop culture scare show look set to become even more twisted and surprising for the Harmon family, whose ultimate fates are seemingly intertwined with and inescapable from the evolutionary nightmare murder house that looked so nice when they first moved into it!, alongside further characters and events that will no doubt come creakily out of the woodwork to scare and unsettle audiences, lets hope that young Moira's participation in the series, which from the get-go has been well and truly aware of its own twisted sexuality, continues to be both alluring and shocking in equal doses.
I expect nothing else!
