Edge- of-your-seat stuff: Tom Cruise does it for real in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL. Images: PARAMOUNT. |
I don't know how he does it, that Tom Cruise. Not only is the swine a multi-talented actor, producer and film-maker, and possess the kind of un-aging good looks that make me truly envious, but he's also one of the bravest people I've ever seen, especially as witnessed by the live stunt work he performed in the latest MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie, Ghost Protocol- a well-deserved worldwide box office hit, based on the classic hit series of the sixties and seventies created by Bruce Geller, now making its spectacular, action charged debut onto ultra-crisp Blu-ray and DVD from PARAMOUNT on 30th April.

We had the train sequence in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE movie number one-and that was pretty darned cool, then the adrenaline busting motor bike chases masterminded by John Woo for film II, followed by the bridge battle conflict masterminded by Stunt Coordinator Vic Armstrong in III, but this entire sequence of IV, set in and around the huge skyscrapers of Dubai, and then onto its sandstorm swirled streets, goes beyond all of whats happened before, and clearly shows audiences and competitors how to make an epic blockbuster action film. How this latest escapist fun is going to be topped by the likes of the eagerly anticipated BOND 23, and the inevitable next film in the Ethan Hunt/Impossible Missions Force saga, I don't know. But I can't wait to find out...
