KER-POW!! THE RETURN OF "BATMAN"!

Crime fighting never goes out of fashion. Even when you're wearing coloured tights! Yep, BATMAN's back! Image: ABC TV
Long before he was Mayor of Quahog in FAMILY GUY, and a long time before Christian Bale was telling people to "get out of my eyeline, Man"!, Adam West was the original TV caped crusader, BATMAN, alongside Burt Ward as his partner in crime-fighting, the Boy Wonder, Robin, as they fought a variety of brilliant actors playing numerous ingeniously realised baddies, in the hilariously colourful, goofy and camp, but always brilliant, TV series, which viewers of all ages worldwide have loved and enjoyed in repeats since its mid sixties original screenings on the US ABC channel.

With little or no publicity for the re-screenings, which started today weekdays (3pm, and repeated each weekday morning at 8.45) on the UK's ITV 4 station, the digital channel must be congratulated for re-showing the series after it has been so long away from TV screens in this country, but they've also made a big blunder in their lack of promotion for it-the series, which is very much a definition of KOOL TV, is not commercially available on DVD or Blu-ray bar the 1966 one-off movie, so they could have have earned a lot of kudos for themselves in promoting it! A big opportunity wasted.

Let's hope that long time fans/viewers, as well as new youngsters who've never seen the show, are quick to find the repeats and enjoy them!
