RE-AWAKENING "THE PROFESSIONALS"!

Whether they're old or new, world audiences will never tire of watching action heroes, thank goodness. And British TV has created some of the finest and most memorable of them, which have proved rife for exploitation in the best entertainment sense possible. We've had the enduring success of Ian Fleming's James Bond on the big screen and the iconic THE AVENGERS on the small, and now it looks like that other seminal TV hit from the seventies, the all-action trio of CI5 men Bodie, Doyle and Cowley, will be resurrected for a big new high octane cinema experience. THE PROFESSIONALS, originally created by equally legendary writer Brian Clemens, are back, for LIONSGATE films, and from one of the Bond movie producers, too! A plus for the project being that the new films makers were actually UK fans who tuned into it when it was originally on in the eighties and hopefully know the shows best ingredients to bring to the fore which will surely make it a success for the next generation of action-lovers...

The original series of THE PROFESSIONALS is often in repeats on the UK ITV 4 channel. All four series are available on DVD.
