The old saying "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" has never rung more true than within HBO's lavishly epic sex and violence storytelling adaptation of legendary fantasy writer George R. R. Martin's literary masterpiece A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE: it's first book- GAME OF THRONES-brought to stunning life as a television mini-series of the highest calibre.  If you're a fan of quality television, or of dark fantasy television in general, and you haven't yet seen it, now's the perfect time to catch up with the season re-runs on SKY ATLANTIC HD in the UK (starting tonight) and follow the complex drama and brutal warfare between diverse family houses as they compete to control the sworded throne of Westeros, all of them largely unaware of an even greater threat looming on the horizon: of a dark foe, long believed extinct for thousands of years, back on the march and ready for revenge...

The series is beautifully cast with the best international actors you could possibly get (special congratulations to Peter Dinklage on his recent Best Supporting Actor Emmy award win for his portrayal of the sagas most intriguing character: Tyrion Lannister, aka "The Imp"), the scripting is both excellent and highly addictive, and the overall production values superb.

And all this is just a warm up for more epic drama and battles to come, as Season Two- A CLASH OF KINGS- continues on filming/production course for transmission next April. Here be dragons!
