DAY OF THE ZOMBIE! "THE WALKING DEAD" SEASON TWO

A new chance of sanctuary for our heroes? The cool poster for THE WALKING DEAD Season two. Images: AMC.

Not long now 'till we get get our new fix of Zombie-topia with the second season of the acclaimed THE WALKING DEAD, on both the US and UK FOX HD channels, each showing the premiere episode a mere few days apart. We've previously reported on all the exciting build up on what's been going on behind the scenes of the new hit series, based on the cult comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, but KOOL TV was frankly surprised and deeply shocked to hear of the departure of its primary adaptor to the small screen-the iconic film director Frank Darabont (no, not a departure, it was an incredulous sacking decision by the management of AMC, already highly criticised in the entertainment press for their allegedly poor behaviour and bulldog handling of the negotiations for the continuation of MAD MEN on their US based channel, as well as their planned budget slashing on THE WALKING DEAD- despite the fact that the latter series actually gets far superior ratings than the former! (For more on this, check out this great article from ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY here: 'The Walking Dead' cast reacts to Frank Darabont's ouster | Inside TV | EW.com)

There's motorway terror for our Human survivors in the Season opener.

As exciting new teaser trailers roll out across the world, and the premiere season continues to perform well on DVD and Blu-ray, how Season Two will turn out overall, story and character wise, after Darabont's absence (a mere two episodes into filming) remains to be seen, though everyone in the shows cast (which includes several newcomers: Scott Cohen, Michael Zegen, Lauren Cohan and Pruitt Taylor Vince) and the equally loyal behind the scenes crew have put on a brave and determined face to do the best work they can, whilst new showrunner Glen Mazarra, who already worked with Darabont on the first series, promises that the more visceral aspects of series will be heightened, and that THE WALKING DEAD will continue to live up to both Darabont's quality name and the audiences high expectations in personal character drama and gory blood fest action.

We expect no less!
