BIG APPLE, "BLUE BLOODS"

He may not have managed to bag the movie star role, and win the whip and fedora, of Indiana Jones back in the early eighties, but Tom Selleck has more than successfully carved out a popular and memorable career on the small screen, in hit series like the long running MAGNUM P.I. -where he was one of the only men on the planet who could make wearing Hawaiian shirts actually look cool!- and a recent stint in the popular glossy trash eye candy, LAS VEGAS (where he took over the star power in its final season from the departing James Caan). Now, Selleck continues to earn his enduring audience success, alongside deserved critical acclaim, as the tough Irish-American matriarch of his police family empire, the Regans, as the hit New York based family drama/police procedural BLUE BLOODS, created by Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess for CBS, returns to the UK's SKY ATLANTIC channel from next Tuesday for a brand new run that sees in some additional changes made to the format but still keeping the same character arc ingredients (including the running thread of the dirty cops who killed Frank's brother) and moral complexity/life in the force aspects-for good and bad- that made the show a firm hit to start off with...

Sky Atlantic HD today announce BLUE BLOODS will return to the channel with the UK premiere of season two on Tuesday 4 October at 10pm.

The acclaimed US drama following the lives of a multi-generational family of New York cops returns for a second season, with Tom Selleck (Magnum PI) reprising his starring role as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.
His straight-talking father Henry (Len CariouDamages) is a former police commissioner; eldest son Danny (Donnie WahlbergBand of Brothers) causes concern as a seasoned detective and Iraq War veteran who often bends the rules of law enforcement; daughter Erin (Bridget MoynahanSex and the City) is an assistant DA and newly single parent; while youngest son and Harvard Law graduate Jamie (Will EstesBoy Meets World) is a rookie cop.
The season premiere features guest appearances from country superstar Carrie Underwood and fellow Grammy® winner Tony Bennett, who perform a duet at a fund-raiser Frank and daughter Erin  attend for the newly appointed mayor, Carter Poole (David RamseyDexter).
Season two also sees former Lie To Me star Monica Raymund join the cast.
Dramatic, compelling and gripping, the second series of BLUE BLOODS is executive produced by Ed Zuckerman and Leonard Goldberg. Other series regulars include Jennifer EspositoBruce Altman,Bobby Cannavale and Amy Carlson.
